Chemical cleaning covers a wide range of applications from construction of new plants and processes to ongoing maintenance activities. Selecting the right chemical cleaning process depends on a number of factors including safety, required cleaning standard, corrosion rate, effluent treatability, disposal options, required heat input, availability of the chemicals & required utilities and cost.
Our chemical cleaning services fall into 3 main categories:
Process cleaning removes pollutants caused by operating processes such as waterborne scale, excess magnetite, cuprous oxide, polynuclear aromatics, iron sulphide (FeS), heavy tar and others
Pre-operational cleaning of newly installed piping and equipment during pre-commissioning. This covers the removal of mill scale and loose matter while retaining the passivation of metal surfaces that require corrosion-resistant properties. We also offer specialized oil flushing services to meet common standards NAS 1638 or ISO 4406:1999 for all types of critical seal oil, hot oil, lube oil and hydraulic oil as well as steam- and air-blowing
Chemical decontamination or de-gassing eliminates the presence of explosive gases, hydrogen sulphide (H2S), mercury, benzene and pyrophoric material in process equipment and is much faster and far more effective than conventional methods, such as using steam alone. Chemical decontamination greatly shortens the time taken to make equipment safe in preparation for periodic maintenance and inspection routines and has a significant impact on reducing the overall duration of Turnarounds & Shutdowns
To date, we have successfully performed numerous chemical cleaning projects involving power station boilers, heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), waste heat boilers, hydraulic & lube oil systems, shell & tube heat exchangers, plate & frame heat exchangers, printed circuit heat exchangers, plate bundle and Texas tower CFE, cooling water jackets & systems, condensers & ACHE (or fin fans), urea strippers, slug catchers and stainless steel systems.

In collaboration with our technical partners, we have developed a number of proprietary products to combat mercury and polynuclear aromatics and also offer specialized equipment, chemistries and methods for decontaminating process equipment, which minimize the amount of effluent to be disposed and greatly reduce the amount of after-cleaning that is needed.
In addition, we have recently added ultrasonic cleaning to our portfolio of services to restore the as-built performance of heavily fouled heat exchangers and other accessories, such as internal packing, rotors, and filters that would normally be thrown away and replaced.
