We are committed to our staff and their welfare and providing a safe work place for all is our highest priority.
Our safety performance is enhanced by continually investing in structured training programs, knowledge sharing, new processes and modern, automated equipment that increases productivity, while minimizing the risk of injury.
We have a web portal for managing safety and competence training across the business called the Safety Passport System. Under the Safety Passport System, all field employees are issued with individual safety passports that maintains their biodata and details of all certified training completed. The system also serves as a Group wide database and ensures all sites have access to up to date resumes, training records, training and development plans and certifications for their staff. In order to ensure that our safety training is kept in line with current thinking, we closely monitor for any changes in regulations or recommended practices and incorporate these improvements into the training courses.
We have also established a web portal Safety Incident Management System (SIMS). This provides electronic reporting of all safety incidents and investigations, ensuring improved speed of reporting and automating the process of gathering safety lead and lag indicator data. We report all incidents in an open and transparent manner to ensure we learn from the past.
We adopt a behavioural based approach to safety by creating a safety partnership between all stakeholders that helps to focus the attention and actions of all staff on their daily safety behaviour, under the main themes of Comply, Intervene and Respect. This, together with continual investment in modern equipment and processes and rewarding of strong safety behaviour, underpins our drive towards safety excellence and Zero-Harm.
We uphold a culture and track record of integrated management systems for each of its businesses that are certified to multiple international standards including:
